NEONI is sponsored in part by United Way Services, The George Gund Foundation, and The Akron Community Foundation.

NEONI represents the nursing workforce interests of 106 members from 48 organizations to create and sustain a strong professional nursing workforce in the Northeast Ohio region. Organization representatives come from hospitals, long-term care, home health care, nursing education, professional nursing associations, individuals and other organizations interested in the future of a nursing workforce.

NEONI’s Mission :

  • To attract individuals to the nursing profession.

  • To facilitate education.

  • To improve public image.

  • To increase public understanding of the nursing profession.

Our Purpose:

To work together to address the critical nursing workforce shortage. Through our collaborative efforts, NEONI will create interest in professional nursing by developing and supporting a nursing workforce agenda to draw people to the profession, facilitate educational opportunity, and encourage employment through the life span. NEONI will also work with other professions to address workforce shortages in their respective fields or areas.

  • Release of the Northeast Ohio Nursing Workforce survey

  • Release of the Nursing Workforce Fact Sheet

  • The NEONI Web site has become an internet resource for information on Northeast Ohio nursing education programs, financial aid sources, monthly updates on healthcare legislation, and more
